Under titrated "Der artistische prozess, das lithographische werk", this book is thus devoted to the lithographs of Picasso carried out between 1928 and 1968. Nearly 800 lithographs here are reproduced and described. The book starts with the portrait of Marie-Thérèse Walter of 1928 to finish with the very beautiful lithography "portrait of Angela Rosengart" of 1964. The interest of this catalogue is that it proposes for many prints all the trial proofs ; thus for the lithograph of 1946 "the two naked women", more than 20 states are proposed to us, Picasso unsatisfied returning unceasingly on work. All the important lithographs are shown here : "La femme au fauteuil", declined in more than 15 states, "David and Bethsabée" in 11 states, "Portrait of Jacqueline" and "Femme au corsage à fleurs", each one in 3 states. All the edition, including those of the states - often to very few copies- are indicated. That is a good approach to follow the work of creation of the artist from the first proofs to the final "bon à tirer" for the definitive edition. Back
